If standard court shoes pinch your forefoot, the fix is a shoe built on a wider last, not a longer size. This guide rounds up the shoes genuinely sold in wide fittings.
Every pick below comes in a letter width (2E or 4E), a brand-designated Wide fit, or a verified wide-forefoot design. Most are still tennis crossovers, and each pick is labelled honestly.
Widths, cushioning and outsoles here are the figures brands and retailers publish. Where no weight is published, the spec box leaves that row out instead of guessing.
How Wide Sizing Works
Shoe width is graded separately from length: the letters describe the width of the last, measured around the ball of the foot.
On the men’s ladder, D is standard, 2E is wide and 4E is extra wide. New Balance, the most width-complete court brand, also sells a narrow B.
Women’s letters run differently: B is standard, D is wide and 2E is extra wide. The same letter means different things by gender, so the two D fittings are not the same.
The steps are small but real: on New Balance’s chart, a men’s US 10 measures about 10.6 cm across the ball in D, 10.9 cm in 2E and 11.3 cm in 4E.
Sizing up is not a substitute: a longer size adds length and heel slip, not forefoot width. A true wide variant is the same shoe built on a wider last.
A roomy toe box is not a published width, either. Some standard shoes are simply cut generously, so for genuinely wide feet, a letter width or brand Wide fit is the reliable signal.
Not sure whether you need a wide at all? Our guides to the best pickleball shoes for men and the best pickleball shoes for women cover the standard-width lineups.

The 12 Best Pickleball Shoes For Wide Feet
1. New Balance MC 1007 — Best For The Widest Feet
The MC 1007 is a tennis crossover that earns first place on width alone: it is one of very few court shoes sold in a true men’s 4E, alongside D and 2E fittings.
Fresh Foam X gives it modern, trainer-like cushioning rather than a firm old-school ride. The build leans to support and stability, suiting heavier players and long hard-court sessions.
Specifications
| Width options | Men’s D, 2E and 4E; women’s wide in D |
| Outsole | Non-marking NDurance rubber |
| Cushioning | Fresh Foam X midsole |
| Weight | 15.2 oz, men’s US 10.5 (retailer-listed) |
| Best surface | Outdoor hard courts |
Buy If
- Your feet measure genuinely extra wide and 2E shoes still pinch
- You want modern foam cushioning in a true 4E fitting
Pass If
- You want the lightest, lowest shoe you can find
- Your feet are only slightly wide, where a 2E is plenty
2. New Balance MC 806 — Best For Maximum Support
The 806 is the maximum-support option in this lineup. A full-grain leather upper, ABZORB cushioning and a ROLLBAR rear-foot motion-control post make it the most traditional build here.
It comes in men’s 2E and 4E, with women’s fittings running up to a wide D. It is heavy by design, and that weight buys durability and control.
Specifications
| Width options | Men’s 2E and 4E; women’s 2A, B and D |
| Outsole | NDurance rubber |
| Cushioning | ABZORB with a ROLLBAR motion-control post |
| Weight | 15.5 oz, men’s US 10.5 (retailer-listed) |
| Best surface | All-court hard courts |
Buy If
- You want the widest fitting combined with maximum rear-foot support
- Durability matters more to you than a light feel
Pass If
- You play a fast, light-on-your-feet game
- You dislike a firm, structured ride
3. New Balance FuelCell 996v6 — Best Wide Shoe For Speed
The 996v6 offers the widest published range in this guide: men’s fittings run B, D, 2E and 4E, while women’s versions come in standard B and wide D.
A full-length FuelCell midsole makes it feel lighter and quicker than the 1007 or 806. You trade some motion control for that speed, which faster players will happily accept.
Specifications
| Width options | Men’s B, D, 2E and 4E; women’s B and D |
| Outsole | NDurance rubber, multi-directional tread |
| Cushioning | Full-length FuelCell midsole |
| Weight | 14.7 oz, men’s US 10.5 (retailer-listed) |

Buy If
- You want one model that covers almost any width, up to 4E
- You play a quick, aggressive baseline game
Pass If
- You need the maximum rear-foot control of the 806
- You prefer a plush, trainer-style ride
4. New Balance SmashStep PKL — Best Dedicated Pickleball Shoe In 2E
The SmashStep PKL is New Balance’s dedicated pickleball shoe, designed for this sport rather than adapted from tennis. Retail listings sell it in men’s standard and 2E widths, with women’s up to 2E.
FuelCell foam and an NDurance outsole carry over from the brand’s tennis line. Retailer fit notes describe a supportive, locked-in upper, suiting the hard lateral cuts pickleball demands.
Specifications
| Width options | Men’s standard and 2E; women’s up to 2E |
| Outsole | NDurance rubber |
| Cushioning | FuelCell foam |
| Weight | About 12.1 oz, men’s US 9 in 2E (retailer figure) |
| Best surface | Indoor and outdoor pickleball courts |
Buy If
- You want a purpose-built pickleball shoe in a real letter width
- You like a locked-in, supportive upper
Pass If
- You need a 4E, which only the 1007 and 806 offer here
5. Skechers Viper Court Pro 2.0 — Best Dedicated Shoe For Comfort
Skechers’ flagship pickleball shoe comes in a brand-designated Wide Fit, with men’s Extra Wide versions sold at retail. It is a dedicated pickleball model, not a tennis adaptation.
ULTRA GO cushioning and an Arch Fit insole make it the comfort-first option here, and its Goodyear Performance rubber outsole is a genuine durability talking point. Our Skechers pickleball shoes guide covers the full line.
Specifications
| Width options | Wide Fit; men’s Extra Wide at retail |
| Outsole | Goodyear Performance rubber |
| Cushioning | ULTRA GO cushioning with an Arch Fit insole |
| Best surface | Indoor and outdoor pickleball courts |
Buy If
- Comfort and arch support sit at the top of your list
- You want a dedicated pickleball shoe rather than a crossover
Pass If
- You need a graded letter width, since Skechers uses its own Wide Fit system
6. K-Swiss Express Light Pickleball (Wide) — Best For Most Wide Feet
The Express Light is a long-standing dedicated pickleball shoe in a genuine wide variant: the women’s version is listed simply as Wide, and a men’s 2E is sold at retail.
At 11.5 ounces in a women’s US 8.5, it carries the lightest verified weight in this guide. Retailer fit notes report no break-in period, so it plays comfortably from the first session.
Specifications
| Width options | Wide variant; men’s 2E at retail |
| Outsole | Non-marking Aosta 7.0 rubber, modified herringbone |
| Cushioning | K-EVA midsole with an Ortholite sockliner |
| Weight | 11.5 oz, women’s US 8.5 (retailer-listed) |
| Best surface | Indoor and outdoor pickleball courts |
Buy If
- You want a dedicated pickleball shoe that feels light on foot
- You hate breaking in stiff new shoes
Pass If
- You need a 4E fitting or heavy-duty support
7. Skechers Slip-ins Relaxed Fit: Viper Court Reload — Best For Easy On And Off
The Reload pairs a Wide Fit option with Skechers’ Relaxed Fit last, which is already roomier through the toe box and forefoot than its standard fit. It is a dedicated pickleball shoe.
The Hands Free Slip-ins heel lets you step in without bending or untying laces, and ULTRA FLIGHT cushioning keeps the ride soft, a combination casual and senior players will appreciate.
Do not confuse it with the Viper Court Elite 2.0, which is Relaxed Fit only. A roomier standard fit is not the same as a true wide, so the Elite misses this list.
Specifications
| Width options | Wide Fit on a Relaxed Fit last |
| Outsole | Goodyear Performance rubber |
| Cushioning | ULTRA FLIGHT cushioning |
| Best surface | Indoor and outdoor pickleball courts |
Buy If
- You want to step in and play without bending or tying
- Your feet are wide and you play mostly social games
Pass If
- You play competitively and want the snuggest possible heel lockdown
8. K-Swiss Hypercourt Express 2 2E — Best 2E All-Rounder
The Hypercourt Express 2 is a tennis crossover sold in a proper 2E for men and women. It is a noticeable step up in substance from the Express Light.
Surgelite cushioning and a midfoot shank give it a balanced, comfort-leaning ride. Our men’s pickleball shoes roundup covers the standard version; this 2E is the same proven shoe on a wider last.
Specifications
| Width options | 2E Wide, men and women |
| Outsole | Non-marking Aosta 7.0 rubber, modified herringbone |
| Cushioning | Surgelite midsole with a midfoot shank |

| Best surface | All-court |
Buy If
- You want a proven all-rounder in a genuine 2E

Pass If
- You need a 4E fitting
9. Wilson Rush Pro Ace — Best Crossover For Comfort
Wilson calls the Rush Pro Ace the widest shoe in its Rush Pro line, built in a 2E fit with a wider toe box to match. It is a tennis crossover.
The 4D Support Chassis is designed to limit supination and control pivoting, and the shoe runs a 9 mm heel-to-toe drop. Wilson publishes no weight, so that row is left out below.
Specifications
| Width options | 2E fit |
| Outsole | Duralast all-court rubber |
| Cushioning | R-DST+ compressed EVA |
| Best surface | All-court hard courts |
Buy If

- Toe-box room matters as much as ball-of-foot width
Pass If
- You want a published, verified light weight before buying
10. ASICS Gel-Resolution X Wide — Best For Stability And Durability
The Gel-Resolution X Wide is the stability flagship in this guide, sold in a men’s 2E with a wide D on the women’s ladder. It is a tennis crossover built for hard courts.
DYNAWALL midfoot support, forefoot GEL units and a full-length AHAR Plus outsole make it the durability pick. At 16.1 ounces it is also the heaviest shoe here, a trade hard-court sliders happily accept.
Our ASICS pickleball shoes guide covers the rest of the ASICS range, including its dedicated pickleball models.

- You play mostly on indoor wood or sport court
11. adidas Barricade 14 Wide — The Stability Icon, Finally Sold Wide
The Barricade line is a stability icon, and the current Barricade 14 is genuinely sold in a wide version. Note the change: the previous Barricade 13 had no wide option at all.
Lightstrike Pro foam sits in the forefoot with a Repetitor foam heel, over a split Lighttraxion outsole with an ADITUFF abrasion zone at the toe. Adidas publishes no separate weight for the wide version.
Our Adidas pickleball shoes guide traces the older Barricade generations, including the discontinued wide Classic.
Specifications
| Width options | Wide version |
| Outsole | Lighttraxion split outsole with herringbone elements |
| Cushioning | Lightstrike Pro forefoot with a Repetitor foam heel |
| Best surface | Hard courts |
Buy If

- You drag your toe and need a reinforced abrasion zone
Pass If
- You need a 4E fitting
- You want a soft, cushioned ride over stability
12. Tyrol Drive V — Best For Outdoor Courts
Tyrol takes a different route: no letter-width sizes, but its whole line is built with a 2E-width forefoot, extra toe-box height and a sculpted, snugger heel. Tyrol does not offer 4E.
The Drive V is a dedicated pickleball shoe whose Vibram outsole uses a harder compound and a chevron pattern aimed at outdoor courts. Tyrol advises ordering a half size down in this line.
Specifications
| Width options | 2E-width forefoot by design; no letter-width sizes |
| Outsole | Vibram, chevron pattern |
| Cushioning | Phylon midsole |
| Best surface | Outdoor courts |
Buy If
- Your width sits in the forefoot and other wides slip at your heel
- You play almost entirely on outdoor hard courts
Pass If
- You need a graded letter width or a 4E
- You play mostly indoors
Wide By Design: Two Honourable Mentions
The Babolat SFX3 is built on a wider last as its standard fit, with no separate wide size to order. It suits mildly wide feet, and our Babolat pickleball shoes guide covers it fully.
The Acacia ProShot is described by its maker as a wide-fit shoe, but Acacia publishes no letter width. Treat it as roomy rather than certified wide; our Acacia pickleball shoes guide has the details.
One honest gap: no current Nike court shoe has a verified wide option, so Nike does not appear in this guide. Padding the list would help nobody.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Counts As A Wide Pickleball Shoe?
A wide shoe is built on a wider last and sold as a 2E or 4E letter width, or as a brand-designated Wide fit. A standard shoe that merely feels roomy is not the same thing.
Should I Just Size Up Instead Of Buying A Wide Shoe?
No. A longer size adds length and heel slip without adding proportionate forefoot width. A true wide keeps your length and widens the last, the fit wide feet actually need.
Are Any Dedicated Pickleball Shoes Made In Wide Widths?
Yes, though tennis crossovers still dominate. The New Balance SmashStep PKL comes in 2E, the Skechers Viper Court Pro 2.0 and K-Swiss Express Light come in wide versions, and Tyrol builds a 2E-width forefoot throughout its line.
How Do Women’s Wide Sizes Differ From Men’s?
The letters shift by gender: women’s B is standard, D is wide and 2E is extra wide, while men’s D is standard. Always check the ladder for your gender before ordering.
Which Wide Shoe Is Best For Outdoor Courts?
The Tyrol Drive V is built for outdoor play, with a harder Vibram outsole. The Viper Court Pro 2.0, on Goodyear rubber, and the Gel-Resolution X Wide are also strong outdoor picks.
How Should A Wide Court Shoe Fit?
Your toes should spread without pressing the sides, your foot should sit flat, and your heel should stay put when you cut sideways. If you need extra length for width, the last is wrong.
